Menus: What every button does, and where to find it
Everything on OzBCoz is reached from two places: the banner across the very top, and the menu bar underneath it. On a phone or tablet most of that menu bar folds away behind the โฐ button in the top right.
Some buttons only appear where they make sense. There is no Key button on the Songs Index, and no Defaults button while you are reading a song.
Getting around the site
๐ต Links โ the dropdown that takes you anywhere else: Songs Index, Favourites, Multi-Faves, ChordPro Files, Chords, Songbooks, Blog, Thanks and Terms.
The OzBCoz logo and name in the banner takes you back to the home page from wherever you are.
๐ก Handy hint: If you are ever lost, those two get you back. The logo goes home, and Links goes everywhere else.
Changing how a song looks
๐ธ Instrument โ shows what you are currently set to. Click it to pick a different one and the chord diagrams change to match. On a song page there is also a bar just below the banner showing your instrument along with its tuning; clicking that opens the same picker.
โฏ Key โ opens the transpose panel, for moving a song up or down to suit your voice. Song pages only.
โ๏ธ Settings โ the layout options for the song you are reading: text size, fonts, spacing, where the chords sit and so on. See Settings.
โ Defaults โ sets the layout you want for every song rather than just this one. It is on the Songs Index page rather than on a song, because it applies to all of them. See Default Settings.
Top / Bottom / Right / Hide โ the bar just above the words moves the chord diagrams around the page, or takes them away entirely.
Playing and reading
โถ Start โ begins auto-scrolling so you can play without touching anything. Beside it are a speed slider and an indicator showing where you are in the song.
โ Edit โ opens the Edit window, where you can change the words and chords of the song. Song pages only.
โน Info โ shows the details held about the song.
Keeping and printing songs
โฅ Fave โ saves the song you are reading into your Favourites. Once saved it shows as โ Saved. Song pages only, and you need to be logged in.
๐ Files โ creates something you can keep: a PDF, a Word document, a plain text file or an image.
Help and getting in touch
โ Help โ a dropdown with the Help Guide and the Help Videos.
โ Contact โ slides out a panel for sending a message.
๐ VI Song โ switches the page into a form that works properly with a screen reader. On a desktop this is in the banner; on a phone or tablet it is in the โฐ menu, listed as Accessibility.
On a phone or tablet
Tap โฐ in the top right of the banner and everything above is in there, as a list you can expand.
The one difference worth knowing is the name. Screen reader mode is called VI Song on a desktop and Accessibility in the phone menu, but it does the same thing.
๐ก Handy hint: The banner also holds the donate button with its currency selector, and either Login / Register or your username if you are already logged in.
